From OP To Mr Benick - Robert11 - 2009-04-24 08:02:00

Hello,

Thanks for help and info. Appreciate it.

House is outside of Boston

Only renovation was new siding (wood horiz. clapboards) put on directly over
the existing T1-11 siding year-before-last
Could this have caused ? How ?

Last winter was fairly normal; some snow of course on roof, but nothing
unusual.

Foundation is concrete.

Heat is hot air via ducts. No wood or pellet stove

No new furniture.

No unusual work on outside of house other than siding last year.

Thanks,
Bob

If the siding was installed by hand with hammer and nails instead of a nail
gun it may have caused it...As could several men on ladders leaning on the
wall or attaching staging to the wall with the weight of several guys on
it...Just add some drywall screws to the area and repair the crack and I
doubt it will come back...Hope that helps....
