Pools sweeper - Kurt Ullman - 2009-05-19 09:01:00

The Kreepy Krawley (however you spell it) works for 5-6 minutes,
stops, starts again after backwash, works 5-6 minutes, repeat process.
Any suggestions as to what the problem might be and how to fix it?

The curious thing here is the connection to backwashing. Are you
saying the only time it works is for 5 mins immediately after
backwashing? If so, that would seem to suggest a water flow rate
problem. The automatic cleaners need some minimum flow rate to
work. It could be you have a clogged filter problem and backwashing
gets the flow open enough. But the strange part is that it only
lasts 5 mins.

How old is the Kreepy Krauly? After 3-4 years [in Hawaii] they get very
tempermental and require just the right suction. If you have a newer unit,
